After the initial Pay Source entry has been created, the Next Cycle End Date must be calculated. This may be completed manually or by using the Calculate Next Cycle Date option.
The following calculation methods are available:
•Admit Date: Uses the patient's Admit Date as the Cycle Begin Date. TruBridge EHR references the cycle setup in the Cycle Billing Table to calculate the Next Cycle End Date.
•Current Date: Uses the current date as the Cycle Begin Date. TruBridge EHR references the cycle setup in the Cycle Billing Table to calculate the Next Cycle End Date.
•Coverage From Date: Uses the Coverage From Date as the Cycle Begin Date. A drop-down menu allows selection of the appropriate Coverage From Date. TruBridge EHR references the cycle setup in the Cycle Billing Table to calculate the Next Cycle End Date.
•Precert Date (Pre-Certification Date): Uses the Pre-Certification From and To Dates as the billing cycle period. A drop-down menu allows selection of the applicable Pre-Certification From Date. When selected, the Pre-Certification To Date becomes the Next Cycle End Date, regardless of any additional Cycle Type configuration.
After selecting the appropriate calculation method, select Update. The Insurance Pay Source List redisplays with the calculated Next Cycle End Date.
NOTE: Once a Next Cycle End Date has been created, it cannot be removed and may only be updated.
The following fields may be updated after the Next Cycle End Date has been calculated:
•Review Date: Identifies when the account should appear on the Cycle Billing Review Due Report. This field is commonly used to track upcoming Pre-Certification expirations so that new authorization information can be obtained prior to the next billing cycle.
•Process Complete: Displays the date Cycle Billing processing has been completed for the account. The Process Complete Date is automatically added after the patient has been discharged and the final claim has been generated. A Process Complete Date may also be entered manually.
NOTE: A warning displays if unprocessed Pay Source entries exist when a Process Complete Date is entered. Claims are not generated for accounts containing a Process Complete Date, and the Add option becomes unavailable.
•Save: Saves updates made to the Review Date or Process Complete Date.
•Back Arrow: Exits the Pay Source Table and returns to the previous screen.
