The NKA (No Known Allergies) or NKDA (No Known Drug Allergies), NKEA (No Known Environmental Allergies), and NKFA (No Known Food Allergies) options are used when the patient has no known allergies or no known allergies to drugs, environmental allergens, and/or food.

To document that a patient has "no known" allergies, select the appropriate option: NKA, NKDA, NKEA, or NKFA.

 

NOTE: If the patient has no drug allergies, the NKDA (No Known Drug Allergies) selection is required for Promoting Interoperability.
