Decision Support Interventions (DSI) are designed to assist clinicians by prompting for clinical care to be provided based on information addressed on the patient chart. DSI alerts are evidence-based and directly match Eligible Clinician Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (EC/MIPS eCQMs). The algorithm used to determine when a DSI should trigger will line up with the Denominator Population Criteria on the eCQM Roadmap associated with the DSI. It is important to note that DSI associated with EC/MIPS eCQMs require that the patient have a charge associated with them, per the calculation algorithm.
•Reviewing and Acknowledging DSI Alerts
•Providing Feedback on DSI Alerts
When a DSI is triggered on a patient, the DSI will populate to the Alerts screen for review. Once an alert has been acknowledged, it will no longer display on the screen. Alerts can be viewed from the Tracking Board. Go to Charts > Tracking Board > Select the patient > Alerts > Select the DSI > Acknowledge.
From the DSI, the user can review the Bibliographic Information and the Data Requirements associated with the measure. This is a view only functionality and will display whatever is associated with the measure via the DSI Configuration in Tables. See DSI Dashboard Security and Configuration for details.
Users may also have the option to provide feedback (add comments) on a DSI from the patient review screen, if they have the necessary behavior control (Provide DSI Feedback). This feedback will be specific to the DSI itself and will not populate to the patient chart. Any documentation about the DSI that should be associated with the patient in question should be entered through a documentation platform. Using the Comment option, users can review previously entered comments and enter additional feedback as well. To enter a comment, go to Charts > Tracking Board > Select the patient > Alerts > Select the DSI > Comment.
